Years of planning, building, and fund raising culminated on June 6 with the dedication of our school's new campus in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington. The Rt. Rev. John Bryson Chane, Bishop of Washington, blessed the school in front of a standing room only crowd of hundreds of friends and supporters, who packed the chapel at the Church of the Holy Communion, spilling out into the hallway and filling the balcony.
During the dedication service, our students recited their Honor Code and joined the Choir in singing "This Little Light of Mine". Faculty, staff, representatives of the BWS Board, and the Episcopal Diocese of Washington affirmed their commitment to the school, and the service concluded with Bishop Chane blessing the classrooms and playground. After the service, guests enjoyed a festive reception and toured the renovated facility.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the dedication and celebration of our new campus a success! We were thrilled by the tremendous turn-out and the many expressions of encouragement and support.
